Sunday - Day 16

> We went to church yesterday (Sunday) morning. Took Barb to dinner, then ran off to Lake City. It was a beautiful day (as usual). We visited with an artist who has his studio there.. We remember when he first started out. He specializes in war planes (he was a pilot). He did other things poorly when he first started, but is getting lots better. He does lots of commission work, fairly inexpensively. He is actually making a living. Anyway, is was fun to see him again.

Thursday - Day 13

> Didn't do much Wednesday, but did run up the canyon for some river pictures.
> Today, Thursday, was a little different. We spent the day at6 Barbs. Replaced
> three bathroom faucets for her...took most of the day. Kind of a pain, but they
> really turned out beautiful and the old ones had been there for 31 years. We plan
> on tripping up Spring Creek tomorrow...Barb's treat!

Tuesday - Day 11

Mom and I took off for Crested Butte and Gothic yesterday.  The mountains, valleys, flowers, etc. were awesome.  We love it.
Today is a stay home and work day.  Talk about huff and puff around.  I got started sawing a 9 inch log with a little limb saw
and it just about "done me in".  We are still moving the woodpile!  Barb got home last nite.  Mom got tuckered out yesterday.
We took about 100 pictures.  Our snapping fingers just wore out I guess.

Saturday - Day 8

Big arts and crafts fair in Gunnison today. We spend lots of time watching the chain saw wood carvers do their thing. The day of whacking out a bear is gone. These guys are really artists. The carving mom is standing by is of a fawn with its chin on a log looking over at a skunk. What you can't really see is the racoon with its head poked up out of the log watching them. The are two pictures of the carving mom and I voted for 1st place. It was so detailed and beautiful. Mom and I visited with the carvers wife and mother in law as we watched him. They were very nice folks. We also liked the rams heads. It is beautiful here again today!

Friday - Day 7

> Another beautiful day here. Took our first day trip supposedly up Spring Creek.
> Got there and the road was so washboardy and bumpy that we turned around,
> Went on up to Taylor Reservoir and around to Dinner Station...also very bumpy,
> had lunch, and came back home. Of course we had a couple side excursions.
> The horse came rushing out on the road in front of us....very spooked. He was
> so scared we felt sorry for him. He was lost or something. We came home
> late in the afternoon, move some wood for Barb and enjoyed a nite in. Mom
> vinished reading Baby Doe Tabor out loud last nite and we turned in.

Thursday - Day 6

> Not much going on today. Drove up Ohio Creek road a ways.
> Started moving a large wood pile for Barb. She is still gone
> back to Chicago. Temperatures and views are great!
